Card arrived last week and installed it into my 5150 today. Works like charm, thank you for business :)

Hello,
Does anyone know about pro/cons of using this card in a Commodore A286 bridgeboard ?
I mean, when I get this bridgeboard in my Amiga 2000 and add a video card, there will only be 2 8bit ISA slots available, so I thought a Lo-Tech controller would be a nice solution for an IDE HD/Compact Flash.

However, from the Wiki I gather that these cards are more geared toward INTEL 8086/88 and Nec V20 CPUs.
Are they efficient in actual AT mode ?

While I am at it, would a Lo-Tech 2MB EMS ram expansion work on such configuration ?

Thanks !

There ae various XT-IDE BIOS versions. XT is compiled to use only 8088 instructions, XT+ includes 186 instruction set which gives a boost to systems with NEC V20 and there is the AT version that includes 286 instructions.

I don't own an Amiga so i can't test it but i also don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. If the bridgeboard makes the machine AT compatible then 2MB EMS should work too.

Hey,

I am quite interested in this. I have both a 5150 and a 5160, would you device work with both when I plug it in to a zip drive or any ide disk drive?

Thanks

Yes it will work with IDE drives. In fact it will also work with SATA drives if you use an IDE to SATA bridge. I use a 10k WD raptor drive and i get lightning speeds on an XT. I haven't tried an SSD yet but i'm sure i will. And yes this card works on the 5150 and 5160, it's the fastest card out there and also works on slot 8 since the optional componentes are included.

It will also work with Iomega ZIP drives but you'll need to have a NEC V20 to use a patched driver that allows the drive to talk to the XT-IDE card. You can check the video in the first page.
