In my quest through british computer-related entertainment (I've been through the micro series) I've come to the second series of gamesmaster. While it is quite cheesy and infatile at times, it is just such an enjoyment seeing they talk about all the games I recall from the past - and some i recall hearing about but never got around to play.

Do any know any who was on the show back in the day?
 
A former colleague "Clive Burdon" who went onto become a games developer (we met at Argonaut games) was on the show as a contestant.

I was in the crowd in Season 4 when they were in Oxford prison. It was the worst season hosted by Dexter Fletcher

It had to be fun cheering at people playing the games one play at home. How was the general feeling of being there? engaging?

I just love the harry potter 90s glasses, haircuts, strong multicolored clothes and the damn good games.

They also had some quick "how games were made" sections. not as indepth as i'd like but still fun to see.
 
I was gutted when this show ended (i have 95% of all episodes on avi, uploading to youtube gradually). Dom Diamond wanted to make GamesMaster more adult orientated and have it shown after 10pm but Hewland/Channel 4 didn't want it or didn't think it would work. Giant opportunity missed when you see how things have went now.

Ohh if some people do have the episodes I wouldn't mind having a copy as I would like to see Gamesmaster again. I believe it was on Challenge a few years back but they took it off as it looked 'too dated'.

I found the seven seasons on a site that shares information in a way it was not intended by the copyright holders. However, that makes sure that such entertaining series are not forgotten long after they lost the general public as audience. Espesially since it doesn't appear there exists a dvd version of the serie although I find many references to projects to get it on dvd when searching the web.
 
Although Dexter Fletcher went on to greater heights he was really not very good in Gamesmaster - Dominic Diamond was pretty funny, I used to enjoy his presenting and his little on screen rivalry with Dave Perry (?) I remember seeing a review of Zeewolf on the program - the review lasted about 4 seconds. The program used to try and cram too much into 25 minutes if you ask me and a lot of it was non game crap.
Fond memories of this show though.

Cant believe that there isn't a show on TV these days about Video Games...!?

Wow, listening to Dominik talking about taking cocaine and playing Championship Manager in a shed is incredible.

He talks about the history of the show, Hewland etc as well as favourite memories.

It made me cry a little about good times and at his stories.
 
I would like to see the episode when they had the Amiga 1200 vs Atari Falcon vs Acorn Archimedes. Not sure which series it was though.

Just listened to the whole thing, brilliant stuff. I wish i had a time machine I would just keep going back and living the early 90s over and over again. Everything I like in life was just 100% better in those days. If I won one of those mega Euro Millions jackpots, I'd bring GamesMaster back!
 
Just saw the first episode og lvl 2. What a positively brilliant show. Will be sure to watch the rest! Thanks for making sure the show isn't forgotten :thumbsup:

I have to say this compo has to be one of the better ones, this is the prices you can win in a competition.
