Your argument doesn't fly in PC clone market approach.

@Bound, please follow PC clone naming standards when describing clone products (e.g. VGA compatible, IBM PC compatible, Am386, Am486, K5, Cyrix 5x86 and 'etc').

Your argument about PC clone naming standards doesn't fly when you consider those clones aren't 1:1 copies. Cyrix didn't take Intel chip schematics an make 100% identical clones, just like Compaq didn't take IBM boards and make 100% identical copies of them. The boards were different, the firmware was different. So your analogy is very deeply flawed.
