Hi all!

I saw an ad for an A500 mini which apparently has replicated hardware or something? I know nothing about at this point but thinking of getting one…. Reminded me of this wonderful place and I thought I would recover my old account and see if anyone is talking about it.

Just been looking back on one of my old threads here after I finished my degree! It’s been even more years and my life is now completely different.

I live up in the Lake District with my long term partner, Maria and work as BI developer for the local NHS trust. I do a bit of mobile work for SMEs on the side still. But yeah…. 7 years later again now. Time is really flying.

How are we all doing? Have we all survived the pandemic? Who is even still here from 2014? ?

The A500 mini is adorable.

I am not sure what hardware is on the inside. I believe it's using emulation of some sort, and on the outside features a dummy keyboard and floppy drive in which there has been complaints over. I personally would have liked to have seen a mechanical keyboard where you could press the keys, not necessarily functional as on the original but, i think it would have been a nice touch.

There's 25 games bundled on the machine and i believe you can add more as well as scene demos. From the review I saw of it, it looks to be very well represented in terms of settings, gui and usability. I do think though that this machine is aimed more towards the occasional gamer who has fond memories and would just like to play old favorites rather than the hardcore enthusiast.

I was thinking of picking one up just to have, It would sit nicely by the side of the TV in the lounge/living room or even on the office desk :D

Hi Amineo, there are still a few of us old timers left here but there has been some site hosting problems and the issues are ongoing. Harrison has been working to port the site to Xenforo as V-Bulletin is discontinued and somewhat falling to bits. This may be in your specialty so maybe you can help him?

Pleased to see you got a gd position after your university degree.

Incidentally my Snes everdrive died! I sent it back to the Ukraine in Jan and Krikzz repaired it under warranty- even after 10y.

Hope ur keepin well

I’m doing okay.. just made a new intro post for renewals sake. It’s been 11 years since I was last active on here. Wow, where has that time gone?
