Hi all

I'm getting bit by the collecting bug again and since I don't have a portable I was looking at the Vita last night. the only problem is there's not that many games on it. I do love the screen tho. I'm not into triple A games or RPGs. I see that Muramasa and Boy and His Blob looks good on the Vita. What would you guys recommend?

Since most PSP games can be played on Vita, it really depends on whether or not you want physical copies. If you don't care, then go with the Vita.

I just wondered if I'd be missing out on any good PSP games if I went for a Vita. I haven't looked into what's available on the PSP tbh. I'd rather the Vita as a unit. I collect physical copies for quite a few platforms, but I'm not sure it would bother me particularly. Some of the PSN indie games look good fun. I'm not sure that would bother me for a PSP or Vita really. It might just be a hassle having to carry PSP games, and with a portable it's nice to be able to have choice without getting off my a$$ to swap a game :) I would buy a few physical copies for either as they are cheap so the option is there I suppose.

I will try upload my psp games here tomorrow tonight :)

I got some Jap PSP Games :)

P.S. I need buy wired for my phone , so that I upload the picture

Yeah I know you have a few good PSP games G, it would be interesting to see exactly what you have. I've got to say that I've actually jumped on a PS Vita (non slim). It's just a few Vita games look very nice and I couldn't resist :) At first I thought I'd made a mistake as looking on YT there seems to be a hell of a lot of turn based RPGs or Jap anime games (how do you actually play those? I never see any action, just comic book like scenes, nothing else!), but there's actually a some nice platformers and action RPGs, more than enough to satisfy my buying of the physical thing. Plus there's actually quite a few 2016 releases I like the look of (English version of Odin Sphere for one). My mission for the coming weeks is picking up Child of Light, Little Big Planet, Muramasa, Hyperdimension U, Dragons Crown, Freedom Wars and Gravity Rush to start with.

Can anyone enlighten me if I should be buying new or used, because I have no idea which (or any) games may have had DLC codes included with the game. If they do, then I should be buying new right?

Thanks again all.

My favourite thing about the Vita is that it lets me play PS4 games on it when the TV is busy.

If you have a PS4, get a Vita. The only downside is those proprietary memory sticks.

Yeah I do like the PS4 integration, shame I haven't got a PS4 tho. Luckily the Vita I won on ebay comes with a 32gb card, those things aren't cheap!

I still got way go to find more PSP games track them down much as I can :)

Don't forget that with the PSP is really easy to install custom firmware, then you can download and play what yoy like. Plus it opens it up to emulation, and there are loads. I mostly play snes games via emulation, plus all the RPGs.

On the Vita it definitely has some nice exclusives, and the games look great. The memory cards are the main issue though because even a 32 GB one can't hold that many games at once.

That's a really nice collection. As said, all good games. Makes me a little nervous now I've gone for a Vita. Im just worried now that Western support for the Vita is virtually non existent now, leaving mostly Jap RPGs, which i kinda can't stand :(

I DID however, take a trip to Rugby and Leamington today, a nice game hunting trip! Picked up 8 Vita games heh. One brand new at Argos which was less than half of what it goes for so it pays to look around these places.

Hopefully Sony will continue to support it.

Harrison, i did consider emulation on the PSP but I've played a lot of the old stuff to death really, plus the graphics of the Vita swayed me big time. I didn't realise the Vita had motion, touch inputs etc, which also worries me because the Wii had some great games but the incessant use of motion controls that companies just "had" to employ just spoil a lot of games. Im worried I'll find up Vita devs just "have" to use stupid controls :(

I have a PSP and a PS Vita,My psp has CFW on it so I can download ISOs and play them on it.I did use my PS Vita, well I did when I had PS Now on it,I would recommend it but the monthly fee for it is a bit much.

I sometimes use my PS Vita to load games on my C64 via Wav,did use my PSP but it has a battery problem at the moment where it shuts off.

So I would say get a PSP if you want to copy games to it without paying for them(Well they are cheap now but some games are hard at find),or get a PS Vita if you want the latest games, most of the games on the PS Vita are not great.

I do have a game on my PSP,its a Train Simulator from Japan,They use real video so it feels like you are driving a real train...:)

I'm not into downloading games really. Since I don't have 'much' time to play, half the fun is collecting. I know that sounds crazy when I've opted for a Vita over the PSP as the PSP has loads more games, but I'm not looking to start a huge collection, heh. Does anyone own Dragons Crown on the Vita? I bought it used with nomanual, but I'm not sure if the new one comes with a manual?

I've owned a Vita for a long time and don't own a single boxed game. They are all online downloads, mainly because it's so much easier. However it is a nightmare juggling them for space in the memory card. I've a 32 GB card and never have enough room. The Sony memory cards are the only negative issue with the console. If they had just let everyone use sd cards it would have been brilliant, but I suppose it's a mixture of trying to stop piracy and getting some more out of the system via an expensive proprietary card format.

Thankfully Sony let you redownload games.

I've never actually paid for a Vita game, despite owning the system for years. I just download the free PSN Plus games and play those. There have been some cracking games over the years. Guacamelle immediately springs to mind.

Yeah I've only just found out about free games for Plus subscriptions. I'll have to have a browse see whats on offer.

If you have ps3 then some of the games in an existing plus account will have a Vita or PSP version linked to it. There are also at least a couple of Vita games every month in plus too.

Don't forget PSOne classics. I bought the original Wipeout on my PS3 and was pleasantly surprised to see it in my Vita's purchased list too :)

I'd probably actually recommend the PSP (I have the PSP and PS Vita).

The reason for that is there's TONS of great games on the PSP, and you can install a CFW on it to run emulators and ROM's of your legally owned games. There's also POP's emulator to run PS1 games.

It gives you a massive back catalogue, and you can get adapters that allow you to use MicroSD cards as memory sticks. :)
