If the external unit is a standard floppy then it will work no mods needed

The external drive I opened up had a non-standard floppy with the power being delivered through the ribbon cable so hopefully your one will be different.

Does anyone know if you can use this to transfer files to workbench (hd) ?

Cheers

If I understand you correctly then yes. You'll need to create an empty ADF and then mount in UAE. Copy the files onto it inside the emulator, unmount/eject then put on USB stick.

Ok so no straightforward just putting files on to it from the pc ;) I'll try out your suggestion Thanks

Hey guys....... I need your help. I am trying to build an Amiga 1200 and I have one Gotek drive. I did install the firmware and I have the LCD with three 000. Seems normal and fine.
I am using a 4Gb memory and it is in FAT format. I did copy Selector.ADF and a few ADF files.

I turned on my Amiga 1200 and I dont see the main menu.......... just the typical Amiga rom, insert disk.

any ideas.... ?? What I am doing wrong ???

thanksssss

A couple of questions would be, did you move the link to S0 before trying it in the Amiga and did you use the right Selector.adf for the firmware you used.

To keep things simple, I copy the Selector.ADF to the USB stick itself and then make a folder on the USB stick for the games and another for Utilities and then copy any games to the games folder and the Utilities to the Utilities folder

The other posibility that comes to mind is that the memory stick you are using is incompatible with the Gotek, I had a couple that wouldn't boot with the Gotek but a lot of various USB stick do work fine. See if you can lay your hands on a couple of different ones to try :)

Thanks Allen1 for your help........ oki..... I didnt create folders, I did add my ADF files directly in the memory stick. Maybe that is the reaseon why Selector.ADF cant find folders.

I dont know if it can read or find ADF files in the root of the memory stick.

Right now it is in S0, internal device.

I will try tonight and see how it goes.

Thanks again.

Thanks again Allen1... I tried and it is working now........ but I have to remove my ACA 030. :(

When I have my accelerator connected to my A1200 I have this error

sys:SELECTOR
Program failed (error #80000002).
Wait for disk activity to finish.
Suspend Reboot

I was not able to flash my Gotek... I only constantly got "unrecognized device" no matter what OS or serial driver.

Finally, I found another forum unrelated to Gotek (ST Microelectronics) that some were able to use the 3.3V (from the USB-TTL line to the Gotek) instead of the 5V line. I tried that, and it worked first time.

May be of some help to people unable to flash.
