This should probably read like an introduction to an addiction group.

Hi, I'm Matt, and I have an Amiga addiction.

OK, well, I manage it fairly well. I'm here looking for some specific creature comforts. I've known of AmiBay for a long time, but resisted signing up. I currently have a modest collection of 8 and 16 bit retro micros from my child hood. In the second half of the 80s I was still mostly using a TI-99/4A here in the US. Every year for a good while, the local computer user groups setup a home-computer fair in our local Mall. I always loved seeing what all the other groups had to show off. The Amiga always impressed, and I finally acquired an A1000 in about 1990-91, sort of retro already.

Modern computers can suck the joy out of everything with all the overhead of protecting against bad actors, and deeply complex repercussions of otherwise innocent mistakes. So, I like working on computers that only change when I make them change.

Ironically, I created internet access for my TI-99/4A and then make people update software.

Anyway, hopefully everyone is enjoying these old machines.
