Hey Steve, as you already did notice I am building a tower with a BPPC and a GREX. I got it running today and by now I also know where that IC socket can be used for. Apart from some special IC that can be placed there ( where I can't find further information for) , you can make some bridges there that allows you to use an unmodified ATX psu.

Here it is: http://grex.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=46

There are 2 possible combinations, one so you can use the button on the front of the tower and another that just powers it on as soon you plug it in. I did the last in combination with a PSU that has a powerbutton on the back. I tried also with the button on my EYEtech Z4 tower but I have to keep it pushed.

the switch is probably a push to make (locking-mech)

as appossed to a push to make non-locking

EDIT:sorry that wasent very clear was it lol,the locking push to make switches where mainly on AT supplys on the mains end later on the ATX required a flip flop circuit to put the supply in on mode(this is built into pc motherboards)hense the two types of switches on cases, one thats either on or off~AT~ or its on when you press it and off when you press it again~ATX~

stedy made an adaptor for this very purpose,or you could just simply put a push to make locking switch wired to ps-on and ground(the later wont work on all ATX supplys)
