I'm sure all 970 are 4gb but only 3.5gb can be used (some design issue) Anyway, still a great card even today in my media PC with i7 3770 my 970/oc is fine for VR

The 'issue' is that the memory is split into 2, as far as the logic is concerned. The 3.5g and 0.5g. The 3.5g has a higher priority that the 0.5g (for obvious reasons), but if a game wants over 3.5g, both will be used. Effectively, 4g is available if required. (that's the official explanation, not mine) Wouldn't bother me.

EDIT: infact, it's bothers me so much that I'm watching how the above offers go
