Wow! That's a VIC user's dream setup there! You certainly got a great catch.

That sounds about right moijk  Good to hear that someone else got something from his sale, cus it looks like I cleaned ut good, but he still had a lot of goodies not for sale, like the a4000D/040 ...me wants !

Thanks Heather. I'm sure to get loads of fun out of the goodies I've scored.

Ordered a dealextreme-ish composite to vga converter from the bay to use with the 64c and vic20. Hope it provides a clear and flicker free image on one of my spare lcd's

This is the biggest tease thread ever.... I kind of hate you a little bit :p

teehe :) no tease intended. One might regard it as what to come in the for sale section later on this year, if I dare part with it that is ! :O

I will hold on to those beauties for as long as I can justify the space requirements.

Anyways....they all cleaned up good and I do not see any reason to possibly ruin the looks of the machines, but is there something I absolutely should do next ? The PET, I think, have never been opened :)

Bugs me a bit that he offered items to me at a considerably higher price than he sold to others. like the c64gs he offerent at three time the price he sold it for even though I expressed interest. Or the PET which he wanted a nice sum for but gave away (same as he wanted for the vic setup you bought. not sure if you paid that though).

Seems to me that he saw a chance to get rid of a lot very fast. I can only apologize if I got away with something you had already expressed interest in, but done is done....this was a funny, strange man I must admit, but i asked him about some other machines, and they were already sold, he said.:ninja:

Does the VIC have an external modulator like the VIC20 does??

My modulator produced really bad results. When I opened it up a capacitor has given up the ghost... Unfortunately, replacing it only improved the picture quality a little bit :(. I ended up performing a 'composite mod' exactly like the conversion done to the Spectrum. Result? I now have a really good video output to my LCD :)

Not opened mine up yet, but the picture is really poor. Got an incoming composite to vga converter, so I'll use a 5pin to composite and have a look:thumbsup:
