I hope you have all been having a great Christmas.

First year we ever had Christmas with both my parents and my mother in law. Normally alternate each year. Now realise why we haven't done that before!

Didn't really get any retro presents this year, or anything gaming. My wife did get me a second hand Star Wars Trivial Pursuit that was quite cool.

Sort of knew in advance I wasn't getting anything retro or gaming though, so treated myself to a few discounted PS4 games before Christmas and the book Coding the Classics Book 1, which I highly recommend you grab a copy of.

I wanted the Mandalorian 6" figure but my wife left it too late and it was sold out. She's preordered the March reissue for when Disney+ launches here in the UK.

Was also tempted to grab a Raspberry Pi 4 to do some messing around but haven't yet.

My son did get a lot of lego sets from everyone this year, so we have spent the last few days building them. Including Hogwarts Express, Cargo Trainset (our complete Lego train setup is going to need its own room!), loads of the Lego City Mars Exploration sets, and a few smaller Star Wars and Harry Potter sets.

Oh and went to see Rise of Skywalker again today for my birthday. Second time (also went launch day). Great film, especially for any long time fans. Easily the best in this trilogy and tied up all characters stories well. My 7 year old really enjoyed it.

So what were you all up to over Christmas, and did you get any good gifts? Retro, gaming, Star Wars etc?

I may have just watched with the wife the final episode 8 of The Mandalorian or not...(allegedly as its not available in the UK as yet so I couldn't have watched it). I believe if I had watched it I would have enjoyed it very much :D

and Santa brought me a C64 Maxi, enjoying it on a 65" TV lol (bit of a difference from a 14" portable colour tv though RF back in 198x).... me and my kids playing action biker , Boulder Dash , raid on bungeling bay, Bruce lee and more :D

Not seen Rise of Skywalker yet. I heard the plot kinda changed (or the pace of the film) due to how much was filmed before sadly carry Fisher passed..I was told you could tell they had to quickly re-write the 2nd half of the film. Ive asked him not to tell me so im excited when I can go see it.

Lol. Yeah, I've not watched the first 7 episodes of the Mandalorian and about to watch the last. Definitely waiting until Disney+ is available in the UK. ;-)

Rise of Skywalker is pretty fast paced thoughout, a complete departure from the slow boring mess of TLJ. Most of Carrie Fisher's scenes were apparently filmed during the making of The Force Awakens and you really can't tell. Very well integrated, although you can sometimes tell it's not her from shots showing the back of her head when it's showing other characters talking to her. Other than that very well edited and asked to fit, and it was a very nicely handled good bye too.

Hahaha. I can also neither confirm or deny that it's superb. Happy new year everyone! :drinkin::grouphug::bounceBoingBall::Commodore:
