Bought my first Amiga late last year and haven't used it much yet. I bought and installed one of the GoTek usb drives but it just isn't the same without the floppy clicking away so I'm after an ADTWin cable to write my own floppies. Given I need to make two posts before buying one here is post one of two :)

If anyone has any advice regarding the ADTWin cable I'd love to hear it.

Have a nice day!

Hello there, welcome to AmiBay, the best place of chocolate coated retroliciousness on the webs!

Now, the ADTWin cable you could make yourself - I think the hardest thing today would be getting a PC with a parallel port ;).

Alternatively you could use a Gotek / HxC floppy device and use their mass-storage library to write to a floppy disk via Disk(X)Copy3 ;)

However, while there is something about the "clunk clunk whir whir" of the FDD - the presence of a Hard Disk or other Mass Storage device liberates you from the limits of floppies and opens up the wonderful world of WHDLoad =)
