Hi everyone, I’m Paul from the Bedfordshire, UK. Thank you for accepting me into the community.
What brings me here is a long-standing interest in the classic machines many of us grew up with. As a youngster I taught myself computing on the BBC Micro Model B through the late 80s. In the 90s I moved on to the Acorn A3010/A3020 systems at school, and eventually back to more traditional x86 PCs at home, always swapping and upgrading hardware.
In the mid-2000s I sold my BBC Micro on eBay and have regretted it ever since, so I have been keen to get back into classic computers. I also remember my best friend having an Amiga (I believe it may have been an A1200, though I cannot be certain), and I always wanted one!
I decided I needed a proper hobby again, and an Amiga felt like the right direction. The Amiga 1200 seemed an ideal starting point, and so far I have thoroughly enjoyed sourcing and collecting the bits and pieces to build a good setup.
I’m looking forward to learning from you all, and I hope to be around for the long run.
Paul
