First post so be kind!

A long time Amiga user who started with an A500 in the 80’s (actually given to me by my older brother) but sold that when I moved to Canada in ‘95. Wasn’t using it as I had upgraded 😀 to a A1200 which I kept in storage until I returned and still have which during lock down I dug out and put a TF1260 in - it works great!

I also have a second A1200 which has a Blizzard 1230 with 16mb and an fpu. I was gifted this quite a few years ago from an old friend who stuck with Amigas when I moved to the PC whilst abroad and when I returned he gave it me. This works perfectly and I recently replaced the battery which was straight forward. This machine had a full size 31/2 hardrive in which I thought wouldn’t fit - he’d sourced an adaptor cable and bracket from somewhere back in the day obviously.

I also have a couple of Amstrad 6128’s which both work and also a 464 which I was gifted from another friend and as I’d sold mine many years ago to clear some of my student debt (even though I got a grant in those days I was still skint) I was pleased to load my old tapes and run some programmes I’d written a very long time ago - so far they have all loaded, just need to find the rest in the loft!

I also have 2 Atari’s STE’s which I’ve generally mucked about with - one I swapped out the sipp sockets for simms and fitted 4mb -thankfully all that desoldering worked out! They both now work fine. I also have a STFm which has never been messed with if the amount of cobwebs inside are an indicator.

I also have nearly every PC I’ve assembled over the years including the ones I shipped back from Canada starting with a Pentium 100 I bought in ‘95. A few bits stand out as curiosities now including the Abit BP6 dual core celeron ‘board and the Videologic Power VR 3D cards and my first dual processor GPU card, the ATI Rage Fury Pro Maxx which I remember getting rather annoyed with when Windows 2000 came out and that was the end of that!

Ever since my first 464 I’ve always enjoyed my computing hobby and although I certainly don’t code anymore I still like tinkering with the hardware.

Welcome to Amibay!

Welcome to Amibay!

I also have various machines, even Amigas and Atari ST/Es some people still cannot stop fighting over... o_O

It is kinda funny that people still squabble over tech that is so old. With an external ‘hardrive’ I quite like using the St’s today but I did a lot more productive stuff back in the day on my Amiga and it was my go to machine rather than the Ataris.
