Hello from the US Midwest

Good day all. I live in the St. Louis metro area of Missouri in the USA. Probably like everyone else, I've been buying a lot retro tech over the past year. Specifically, all of the consoles that I never owned in the 80s or 90s. But, I've really gotten into Commodore 64 repair too. I own eight of them. Three weren't working when I got them and I was able to bring them back to life. One had five bad RAM ICs. I had to painstakingly extract then, install sockets, acquire new RAM etc.

I also acquired two Amiga 500s, an Atari ST and an Atari STFM this week. I am gathering all of the bits for them (power supplies, video cables, Gotek). There's a lot to it. I am also going to retrobrite them as best I can.

Greetings! I started a couple years ago after digging my childhood C64 and the first system I bought for myself out of a storage closet. Got them up an running.. collected a few more vintage systems... then a few more.

Things are getting out of hand. I may need help, but it may not be too late for you.

Thanks BitMoon64! I think it's too late for me too I look at the ever-increasing prices and tell myself that it's now or never - later will be a lot more expensive.

I lived in the UK during the 80s and early 90s. I still have my ZX Spectrum that I purchased used with 16Kb RAM. I've acquired a few more since then too. That's my first love but I always wanted a C64, and I owned an Amiga 500 but had to sell it when I left the UK.

Man, I have a powerful itch for a ZX Spectrum, but I am not prepared to support it yet.

Getting my c64 and A4000 Toaster/Flyer running was my first priority when I dove into this. I have an Amiga 500 with a Mega-Midget Racer that still needs attention. I'll get to it, but when I find some lonely, dejected 6502 based machine in a flea market or yard sale I think to myself, "If that doesn't work I bet I can make it compute again."

It helps that I bought a small cache of old chips from a local computer store some years back when the owner was closing up shop for retirement.
