Originally from Australia, and now living in Vancouver BC. The Amiga was the BEST home computer, with the C64 a close second. I am in the processing of building a kick-ass A500 setup, it's been 30ish years since I was 'hands-on' with original hardware and can't wait! :)

Welcome to Amibay (y)

I grew up in the Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby/Coquitlam/Ladner areas in the 70s and 80s.

loved computers every step of the way no matter what they were, Apple II, VIC20, TS1000, Atari 400/800, TI99/4A, Commodore 64/128...

we could never afford one of course, but most of my schools from grade 7 onward had Apple IIs, and a few friends owned one or another...

took a while, but I pretty much own every one that I had wanted as a kid (with the exception of a few of the rarer/more expensive ones)

stuck in Calgary now, though.

Sorry to hear you are stuck in Calgary :)

My first computer was a SpectraVideo 318, then C64 and then an Amiga. I also had an Amstrad NC100 for taking notes in High School (although the teachers weren't usually happy with me using it). Since then it was PCs & Macs. I got a MiSTer a few years ago and it was like a gateway back into orginal hardware. Two projects on the go, build an A500 that looks like an original machine with QoL improvements & build another MiSTer that looks like a C64, including using an original Commodore monitor.
