Hi all, i purchased this 32" LCD screen a few weeks ago via a local ebayer.

Well today i got it wall mounted and hooked up to my xbox 360 through VGA cable.

It is a Samsung LTA320W2-L03 32" Panel which is apparently used in Hitachi, Panasonic and Samsung TV's although this one only has one video input which is VGA and a 3.5mm Jack Audio input.

There is a little circuit board attached to the top of the screen that has volume controls and menu for display settings but there is no power button so i have to unplug the screen every time i'm finished using it.

There is a little infra-red sensor attached to the circuit board so i am assuming there is a compatible remote control which may allow me to put the screen into standby. I have tried using a few different universal remote controls and using the codes for the above three manufacturers as well as letting them do an automatic search and none of them seem to find a code.

So after all that my question is, is there any way to find out what code or remote control might work with this screen?

Thanks

Mike

I use Harmony remotes now. They are all programmed from your computer. You just tell them the devices you have and it downloads the codes from their servers. Supports everything I've ever thrown at it. :)

I found the following site to see if your device would work with a Harmony remote. Unfortunately, it says it is not available for that Samsung model. :(

Failing that there's often places like charity shops and other 2nd hand places that sell masses of loose remotes for 10p each or something. Might be worth buying a few Samsung ones and giving them a try?

IIRC those panels are used for commercial displays which don't use standard codes.

Best bet is going to be to get a learning remote that will scan all possible channels for it.

The screen is also used in the DELL W3201C TV - which is recognised by Juv's & SDG's aforementioned Logiteh universal remote

I have tried a couple of universal remote's tonight and used the auto scan as well as trying all the codes listed for the three brands i mentioned and none of them managed to find a code.

I like the look of the harmony remote but as this looks like it's a custom made panel probably for a display somewhere in a shopping centre or such i'm a little apprehensive about spending the dough

I can loan you a philips pronto pro if you'd like, it'll scan all commercial display codes, and you can then use the code it finds with other devices.

Or, if it finds the code, you can buy the remote off me for £25 :D or just send it back once you know :)

One of these

Used to use it for work setting up automated AV systems so should find it.

@Gouldin, if you're sure you don't me borrowing it i'll give a try and if it works i'd be happy to pay £25 for it. I'll pm you

Oh and Logitech FTW. Their stuff oozes rulage.

Funnily enough i've never found a remote behind the sofa, now under the cushions is a different story
