Hey guys,

I have an a3000, 030@16mhz, very low RAM, with a ROM Tower. When i boot the Amiga, it gives me the options to boot into kickstart 1.3 or 2.X. I have NO hard drive, I want to set up a CF drive. How can I do this to use both ROM versions? I have ROM images taken from both 2.04 (I think?) and 1.3. I'd like to set up a dual boot Amiga, just for fun :) But not sure how.

Also, are there any better workbench packs I can use? I set up classicwb GAAE for 2.1, but not sure for the 1.3.

Finally, is SFS/PFS3 compatible with these ROM settings? I'd like to partition my CF and set it up but not sure if it will work..

Thanks!

Would be cool to get some answers since I have a 3000 that's exactly like that :D

I do have the original HD still in there in case you need anything off of it

Oh really? Can you somehow add a SCSI-IDE adapter on the SCSI chain and duplicate all the partitions so we can investigate and see what's on there? :)

I'd rather not muck around with trying to get 3.1 roms to work with the ROM tower, I have read a bunch of weird issues. Bottom line I don't want to waste money on incompatible roms, know what I mean? :)

Using the original installation 2.0 floppy you can make the partitions and the rest are pretty straightforward.

Install 2.0 on the 2.0x partition (you can't rename this partition name!), then upgrade it to 2.1 if you want.

The 1.3.x partition is a bit more tricky as you must have a 1.3 system (Workbench) disk, then boot from it and do a search for the 1.3.x partition just to check the booting floppy can find it.

Then simply type (in a newshell/CLI window):

Copy df0: to DHx: all clone (DHx must be replace by the name of the 1.3 HD partition.

Repeat the command for the Extras floppy and it's done.
