Hi guys 'n' gals,

i bought an Ambery AV-8 compasite/s-video to VGA adaptor http://www.ambery.com/vitoxgacoscs.html and i don't seem to be able to get the thing to work. It is hooked up to a Samsung 22" lcd monitor.

I have tried an xbox, saturn, CD32, megadrive and an A1200 with both compasite and s-video.

all i seem to get is a white screen, if i look at the screen from one side i can see that there is an image but as i said the screen itself is white.

anyone have any ideas?

cheers, Justin

yes i got it from here, but the seller had no problems:(

i tried various cables with no change, i'll do some more testing this evening

I've got a similar Svideo and composite to VGA convertor, but mine has controls for a menu that you can change input, output resolution, brightness, contrast, screen position and size etc.

I use it with my PAL N64 with Svideo output.

It wasn't expensive so if interested I will find the ebay BIN listing for you later.

Have you tried playing with the VGA switch?

Dave G

tried a different PSU and there is life, but the image is terrible, will put this down to a bad job and find a better solution:thumbsup:

yea i have 2 of them but 1 came from hongkong and 1 here

they are ok but upgraded to the gbs for miggy

cheap psu then justin

yeah seems to be, but even with the "good PSU" the image is terrible with no way to adjust contrast, colour, brightness etc:(

rubbish bit of kit lol

what are you using as a signal source justin?

i thought these where s-video not cvbs.is the picture really blurry?

not so much blurry but too bright and wrong colours (red looks green etc)

i tried s-video and compasite, with different leads from CD32/Saturn/Megadrive/Amiga and Xbox, all the same:(
