Ok here goes,
A1200 3.1
32gb Sd-Hdd.
Blizzard 1230 MkII with 64mb ram,
running Classic WB 3.1
PFS 3.0
43.24 (tried a few) scsi.device (to enable DH1,DH2 large partitions)
My issue is,
If I use "CPU fastrom" in my startup-sequence before loadmodule scsi.device all is OK and I boot Workbench no issues and all is well, all partitions work fine, eveything is good.
I get good speed on Blizzard 030/50 (full with MMU), HDD gives a respectable 2.8mb/s and an updated check4GB (from fitzsteve how to thread) says all is ok.
so what my problem.
"cpu fastrom" causes a line of text to show in the cli window during boot which then of-course causes the popup "intuition is attempting to reset the Workbench screen", I know its just one mouse click and all is ok but annoying.
If I omit the "cpu fastrom" once "loadmodule scsi.device" is run for the 2nd time "1st to install into ram" I get a guru.
if I use "cpu fastrom >NIL:" I get a guru
if I eneable maprom on the blizzard and use "bkick" i get a guru
if I disable "loadmodule scsi.device" then workbench boots no issues but of-course the large partitions appear as "non:dos"
is there any way to use "cpu fastrom" and not have it type a line of text like using ">NIL:", all the switches I see dont use a "QUIET" but just options for cache etc.
another thing so I know the maprom jumper is working, with jumper on "disabled" Bkick = no blizzard or maprom disabled, with jumper off bkick just doesnt say anything suggesting it detects the maprom function,
weather i use bkick or not the "avail" after a "boot no statup" gives the same 560k fast ram usage, if I then type "cpu fastrom" fast ram usage goes over 1mb.
in workbench without "cpu fastrom" and "loadmodule scsi.device" in sysinfo "MMU = disabled"
in workbench with "cpu fastrom" and "loadmodule scsi.device" in sysinfo "MMU = In Use"
if I use "bkick then "cpu fastrom" I get a red screen.
this is not a big issue just a niggle why "cpu fastrom" has to blurt the line "system: 68030 FastROM (INST: Cache NoBurst) (DATA: NoCache NoBurst)" in a Cli window at boot up.
thanks for reading my dribble
