Hey, I have a Picollo SD64 that did not come with the custom passthrough cable for the Amiga DB32 out, to its custom DB9 in. I have seen a pinout for both ports, and I have the correct connectors for both ends. I am wondering, does it require ALL 9 pins to be connected on the DB9, as I only have 8 core cable to hand, and would rather not order 9 core (and wait for delivery).

See this guide here It shows 3 grounds, one for R,G and B and also a separate ground for the sync signals, which it appears can be either combined IN as pin 4, or as separate H and V as pins 4 and 5. I'm assuming I NEED that Sync ground as well, and will HAVE to order some 9 core cable.

OK, would there be ANY advantage to NOT supplying one of the grounds over any of the others? There are the R,G,B and Sync grounds. Which would be best to omit? Alternatively, I can double up the cable, to cover ALL the connections. It would look odd. But I can wire the SAME wires in both cables as for the ground signals, and then use the 2nd set of wires to cover the rest. It would be a bit frankenstein, but if it works... it'll be behind the machine of course...

On a Piccolo Card, all of the ground pins at the connector end to common ground on the pcb - so you can just short them inside the plug and use only one wire for it.
