It's not really fair to paint every employee with the same brush it just depends who your delivery guy is. We have a guy in his late 50s to early 60s and takes pride in getting items delivered safely and i've never had anything broken from them because of it.

The problem with all courier companies is that they employ a lot of people, and any organisation with lots of staff will have a few incompetent, disgruntled or vindictive staff members. The safe delivery of your parcel will depend on it not meeting one of those on the way.

I have not had a problem with Hermes and the lady who delivers my parcels is pleasing to the eye! She texts me to let me know where the parcel is if I am out. Yodel, however, is a swear word in my house. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Don't get me wrong I'm on first name terms with the delivery guy, he does take pride in what he does.

The problem seems to be within the warehouse environments & moving between them

TC :)

I've not had any problems with Hermes deliveries, my primary gripe with these budget couriers is their lack of Saturday delivery!

I suppose it all depends on your local delivery person.

Also be aware that in the My Hermes Goods that are Excluded from Compensation for Damage list is Electrical or electronic items:o

f hell.. I had no idea about this!

I am using this company too from time to time (a friend of mine is so ****ed off with them, he calls them "Herpes") , thx to royal mail for the ridiculus prices.
The hermes local guy is freakin' slow to collect packages, (like he does not give a f*) one time he came a bit late to collect a package.... (two days later!)

LMAO...I picked "C" - without reading ahead :D

When do I start ?

Plus its a C64C and not one of the "good" ones :P ...hehe

When they unload lorries from the depot, they literally throw the packages off onto the floor. Maybe its not so bad when its clothing in plastic bags etc.. but he mentioned more than one occasion he's seen them literally throw large boxed LCD televisions out of the vans to the depot floor! I'm sure that's not too good for the telly!!

I've seen the same thing at DHL...large boxes that say "FRAGILE" all over them simply tossed out of the van onto the concrete floor. I'm afraid there's simply no hope. :(

there's a gap in the market for a new courier company who actually 'care' for parcels imo... although UPS come close.

I've never had any issues with Hermes until Tuesday... A guy turned up with his wife and then started stressing out because he couldn't fit my 3 parcels in his over loaded CAR! He then started chucking other peoples parcels around to try and make space whilst constantly swearing! I've never seen this guy before and i doubt he'll last long with Hermes either!

I'm now waiting to see if any items were destroyed as a result of him cramming them into his car .

This is the very reason I will appear to be a fussy git to sellers!

I ask them to go OTT on the packaging, even going to the lengths of offering money on top if they go moody over it, some people just do not understand how courier's and postal systems treat stuff.

Makes me sick when an old computer survives 25+ years and then gets taken out by some prat throwing it about or somebody deciding a vynil bag is enougth to protect it!

At least it isnt an arcade board I once got,

News paper and no bubble wrap

oh.. I had the same experience, years ago I got a c128D from Germany. The seller used JUST newspaper, he make balls with newspaper and filled the box with them! :double The machine came like a ****! The whole front faceplate detached from the machine! (mind that it came from a somewhat known online shop in Germany), thanx to :Commodore: quality, the machine worked!
