Hello everyone, I got a bit nostalgic and watched a bunch of AMIGA videos and decided it was time to get an AMIGA again.
I used to have an an AMIGA when I was young, as I recall I had a 500 with a harddisk attached to the side and I think I had a 68010 - I ofc gamed on it but mostly just fiddled with some useless programming in draco and PCQ Pascal.
Anyway I have now invested in a few machines and have some questions/issues.
What I got:
AMIGA 500 Rev. 3 with commodore key
AMIGA 500 Rev. 6
AMIGA 500+ Rev. 8
two 512kb ram expansions
Gotek USB floppy drive
ACA500plus
My plan is to have a vanilla machine for just gaming (with Gotek though) and a pimped machine for everything else.
I guess it's obvious that the 500+ should be pimped but which would be the better choice for the vanilla machine?
Also I have an issue with floppies, one of the machines I bought had a defective floppy drive the other one had a functioning one (I tested a game and it worked) I then stuck in an original Workbench floppy and it appears it destroyed the second drive as well since it now exhibits the same issues as the known defective one, it literally scrapes the surface of the disk - could a floppy really mess up a drive that bad? Should I throw away all the old floppies I got with one of the machines!!!
Also I need some CF cards, any known good ones or some to avoid?
