Hi, I know re-enthused isn't a word but I've been a great admirer of Commodore since my parents bought a 500 plus home when i was 7 or 8. We sat playing lemmings until 2am! Im lucky enough to have a good memory of unwrapping a megadrive on Christmas day but the Amiga tops it.

I love my computer history and have quite a few books and listen to quite a few podcasts aswell. I sold off a load of my console collection a few years back but have invested in another 500+ (got to solder a new battery yet) and a nice 1200 with a fully loaded 4gb cf card and just ordered an 8mb card.

My name is actually Ian but I love dojo Dan and Titus the fox as I got these for my birthday once! There's so many memories for me all thanks to the 500. Buying big box games in Electronics Boutique (r.i.p. EB) and small box ones cheap in our local market. As a programmer myself it really was the hayday of originality, creativity and individual achievement in gaming and hardware.

Anyway, this forum looks great and I've been silently reading quite a few treads, so I hope I can fit in somewhere. Eagerly awaiting the next retro revival early December in Kenilworth if anyone's going. Right, going to get back to my Babylon 5 :) and hope to chat soon, cheers!

Welcome! I'm still jealous of all the wonderful events that are happening in the UK. :)

Hi all, thanks for the welcome! I'm definitely not a big time collector like some of you as I had to sell off around 15 systems about 7 years ago, very sad! But I do have a small select collection. My solder sucker came yesterday so I'll drag my 500 out and replace the battery this week. I have also refurbed a CPC 464 and put a new belt in but it's still not playing right. Is there anywhere on the forums where I could post up for some help with that? Cheers.

You need our AmiOracle section. There are a few Amstrad specialists on here, so you should get the help and advice you need to get it up and running again.
