Hi all,

I consider myself a "Retro Game Developer", and have been into 8 & 16-bit computers for as long as I can remember.
My favourite computers are both the Amiga (I had a 600) and the C64 - good times! :D

I've always been a fan of Point & Click adventure games (particular ones by Lucasfilm Games and those by Ron Gilbert).
Through my love of these games, I recently developed SCUMM-8, an open-source version of the classic game engine, created using the (very limited) system specs of the PICO-8 Fantasy Console.

I hope to someday own a couple of original game boxes (specifically Monkey Island 1 & 2), to complete my journey. :D

Thanks for your time - see you around the boards,

Paul

Hello and welcome :)
Nice web page BTW.
I am a VR (main) and Indie developer (on the side).
Currently working on a retro inspired shoot 'em up (going to Kickstarter soon)

Hi Bastich,

Thanks - it's just a WordPress site, but it's doing me well so far! :)

Oh cool, a fellow Indie. That looks great (obv. nods to Uridium but with a lot more "juice"! ;) )
I love the lighting effects - what are you developing it in?

I'm a .NET (Client/Server) developer by day, but have been dabbling in GameDev in my spare time for the past couple of years or so. Recently been more active on the IndieDev side - hoping to release my first commercial/mobile game hopefully later this year/early next year. It's gonna be a 2D procgen space exploration game (think No Man's Sky meets Elite, but 2D and geared for casual play).

Wish you all the best with the Kickstarter - hope it all goes well
(I'm tempted to do one for my game, but I'm too much of a wimp!) :D

Hello and welcome. Great to see a fellow member from Southampton. My family are from there (Bitterne and Redbridge) and I was born in West End before my parents moved to the New Forest.

Your space game sounds interesting. Keep us posted.

Hey Harrison,

"Small world" eh? :) I'm actually in Hythe, but I go through Redbridge pretty much every day.
Previously lived in Dibden, right on the edge of the New Forest (great access for walks) - still only 5 mins drive away tho.
Would love to live there someday, but would have to sell *quite* a few games first! :D

Oh thanks a lot - will do! ;)
