A

There is one solution to this and it is to introduce the Amiga to your kids and/or nephews and nieces. I have had nothing but good reactions. The kids know that too much YouTube is bad for them but what else do they do on modern machines?! The temptation is too much! Creativity and even gaming time gets reduced! A sedentary and passive generation they'll be if not coached in the old ways!
Have you taken them outside and showed them a stick? :ROFLMAO:

A lot of kids have ADHD and communication issues partly because parents throw a touch screen device at them from an early age "to get prepared for a digital world"! What actually happens is they become a worse version of a telly addict because their attention span become about 2 minutes and creativity, critical thinking and the ability to code, animate or think outside of what they're spoon fed goes through the floor. The Amiga, Scorpion Engine, Blitz Basic 2 and Deluxe Paint are all good tools to combat that. Arcade games are a good way to socialise locally without headsets. How does that represent a stick or spinning top?!

I'm sorry for my poorly formulated joke.

It was just a reference to the fact that I feel that I'm old, and in my time when I was a kid I could play with a stick outside and it would be many different lovely things through the power of my imagination.

I agree to that sentiment though imagination can be channelled in many ways. We can agree it needs channelling and inspiring.

It’s like you want to save them all…. I have too many…

At the moment I have 4 A4000’s with 2 spare A4000D boards. A few A1200’s in original, A1200.net and Checkmate guises.
It’s an addiction…

Funny...I remember my parents yelling at me for spending too much time on that darn Amiga.

Another Good Amiga?

...meanwhile, the madness continues! Don’t worry these cases needed cosmetic TLC. And so they got a nice shot of automotive black.

I’m starting to think that the only way to have just one Amiga is if you live close to @Timtheloon or if you’re buds with @Szmn. :)

One of every model Commodore build, but not a lot more, then you can use from time to time.
You should show discernment in that the Escom built but C= designed A4000T has both IDE and SCSI built in and is a better design IMHO. @Ordyne here on this channel is working to replicate the original C= bezel and door. Also, a Hi-Toro branded 'Boing Ball' A1000 is more valuable to me than a C= branded one.

Escom and Cbm A4000t got the same scsi ii f/w, all hw specs are the same.

Just 'rescued' two A500+'s and two A1200s (Commodore and Escom w/170MB HD) in the past 6 weeks. One of the A500+ (battery leakage) needs a new motherboard and was a parts purchase (an A500++ project).

It's been a 30 year break for me wrt to Amiga ownership: Originally, as a child, I had a ZX Spectrum 128k Plus 2, then A500, and swapped this for an A1200 which I let go about 25 years ago. I learnt to code a little on these (DICE C compiler).

But, I feel 4 is enough for me, as I need room for a Commodore 64 Ultimate and two ZX Spectrum Next Issue 3 that are inbound in the next 2-4 months or so :)

I have 4. And that‘s even one too much. So I think 3 is OK. „No more, no less“.

One for gaming, one for working, one for fun. You need storage too and room to place them…

Yeah, except that the C= model is unobtainable so my point is it would be silly to limit yourself to just pure C= Amiga models. I assume you and Frogger would treat the Escom A4000T as a C= model?

I've had Escom A4000T back in the 90s. As a collector, Commodore is #1, but I would love to get an Escom again.

That's the thing with Amiga! You have X machines and you are thinking to yourself that's enough for me. Then, out of nowhere, 2 more Amigas appear that beg to be rescued and just like that you're with X+2 Amigas and you are thinking it's nice to be surrounded by more Amigas! :giggle:

Self-control can help prevent that 😜
