I was wondering if there is any way to see what is in an Amiga floppy disk without boot it. I mean, I have a disk which doesn't boot but it may or may not have "something". Should be a game, no AmigaDOS friendly, so in normal Workbench I can't see a thing. There is any command on WB (yes, that; is the only program that I owe for Amiga) to see what is in the disk?
Many thanks

Hi

You will need this:

Once you have it in the main window select DF0: then the Diskmon button.
Then, in the disk editor, overwrite the block to zero.
Then move up the sectors one by one using the plus button.

Thanks , looks hard since I don’t have idea how to copy from a pc to an Amiga :( just to double check… no way that you can check archives or know what the heck a floppy disk has worh WB , isn’t it?

GoADF! perhaps could be of use?
just to explain my situation: amiga 500 ,one drive, floppy disk -in theory it has a not amigados friendly game-, and super newie in amiga archives system and all of that. :(
I just inseted this floppy on amiga's drive and after a few seconds of read... the famous hand with floppy pops up again on the screen... foe that reason I wanna know if at least that disk has something in it...

You could try copying the disk with a copier like X-Copy to another disk. That sometimes corrects errors. Cleaning the disk as it's not bootable is another thing. Without a internet capable transfer methods IDK what else.

Does your A500 have a 1.3 kickstart rom? Is your floppy drive original amiga fdd?
DF0: dir isn't working for ndos games? Or directory in xcopy? Don't remember..

Why not just reset your Amiga with the disk in it?

According to this statement, he booted the disk without WB and because the drive tried to load, I guess it is the problem of RDY signal. That's why I asked him about his drive. Even though without true RDY, the cracktro should be seen...

Chances are it's a bad disk.

Just format and reuse the disk you can. Life is too short to worry about some 1's and 0's on an unlabelled floppy.

Life is too short in many ways.
We are here to try and help everyone's problem, aren't we?

Ok ... let's break this down.

Is the disk labelled? No.
Do the contents of the disk work correctly? No.
Is there any indication of clear text when going though the contents with a disk editor? Don't know.
Do you have the time to go through the previous step? Probably not.

Put the disk in the "to format" pile and go play some Pinball Dreams or Alien Breed instead. :)

Another way to possibly check what's on the disk, would be to use x-copy pro and hit the disk info button.

Also, there is a program in pc where I used to delete sensible soccer's 96-97 teams and replace them with the ones of 2016 edition just to have them in real disks. But I don't remember the name of it.

yes it does 1.3 kickstart rom, floppy drive is original (chinon). The disk is one from a CU Amiga cover disk which has (in theory ) a complete game.of course not an Amigados game

Boot an A500 with Diskmaster2, pop in the disk you want to inspect, the contents will show up is there if anything is on it! if its non-dos then nothing will show.
