Hey folks.
Well - looks like I'm back on the Amiga Scene. I was a die hard fanboy back in the late 80's and early 90's before I succumbed to the inevitability that was to be the end of Commodore - that darned IBM PC !
My old man had an Atari ST, then STE - in contrast to my having an A500, then A1200 - I'm sure you can imagine the arguments we used to have back when I was a kid. All in good banter though and was great bonding over technology for us both.
Anyway - I came across a great deal on an Amiga 1200 so bit the bullet.. and well, here I am - back. There's SO many more mods and custom fits available now with technology advances - it's mind boggling - and great to see these beauties are still going strong 33 years later !
I'm an engineer by trade now (in part thanks to my misspent youth learning all things tech with my old man!) and am super excited to see how much I can get out of an Amiga in the modern world - and of course, revisiting all of these classic games you just can't get the same feeling out of in an emulator !
When I heard the disc drive spin for the first time in 25 years it was such a tranquil feeling - I knew I was back to stay lol
Hopefully over time I can add some of my own creativity to the community - but for now, I'll stick with browsing through all of these insane mods to see what tempts my fancy before I start dreaming up things to do - I'm sure over the years people have dreamt up solutions for nearly everything !
Thanks for the approval to join Admin's - I'll be no bother, I promise
Best regards,
Matt.
