I should have suspected it wouldn't be simple.

So I have a 500GB WD Caviar Blue IDE hard disk, was working fine under 3.2.2 using the A4000T onboard IDE.

I got a Acard IDE to SCSI adapter (the actual one for hard disks) and it recognised the drive, but it was full of read errors.

Went to HDToolbox to reformat it, but it cant read the configuration returning the error "Insufficient data returned by inquiry".

Does anyone know what data I should use to set it up manually in HDToolbox? Theres no info on the case about heads and cylinders like the old days. Model number is WD5000AAKB - 00H8A0

THANKS SO MUCH. 🥲

Update. So after removing and readding the adapter, it now reads the config (different amount of heads to than when it was connected via IDE... hmmm....)

Can format the disk etc, but it fails when copying from SCSI hard disk to the new SCSI disk with the IDE adapter on. CD ROM transfers are fine.

Has anyone actually had one of these work properly?
