I am a devout Monarchist and will always have immense respect for the Queen and immediate family :)

Prince Philip is my favourite. He's made some glorious gaffs over the years:

'Deaf? I'm not surprised with that bloody racket!' (To a class of deaf children sat next to a brass band)
"How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?" (Speaking to a driving instructor in Oban, Scotland)
'Ever been on a plane before? It was just like that.' (To the leader of Paraguay when asked how his flight was)

There are many more...

TC, you cannot be serious? As a 49 year old man you are choosing to leave because of a media uproar about a small minority of people that isn't even directed at you? Of course people are going to get abusive because they didn't get their way and what better way to get their point across than to play the race card. Obviously they're gonna focus on that for maximum exposure, but you cannot seriously 'surrender being a British citizen' to live in what effectively is a broke country, what point are you trying to make by doing that? Have you forgotten what happened to Greece and all the EU crap barely a couple of years ago?

Not to mean offence, but i'd call that irony if I ever did see it (more-so if the EU does actually have to have a complete restructure, there's a good chance that Greece might not even have a say in the matter of staying).

All I can see is that our only issue is we have no good leadership, as others here have already said. In fact that the only one even remotely suitable is the SNP leader, which really is clutching at straws for quality.
Britain has the 6th largest economy in he world and frankly, if Norway, Switzerland and Sweden can manage on their own, why can't we? People need to stop crying wolf and perhaps have a little more faith for the country we live in and what we can be capable of if we stop bickering and just get on with it, and we can start by finding MP's that aren't gimmicky loose cannons and convince Scotland that all will be well by actually listening to what thy have to say and offering support. They chose to stay with the rest of the UK and we should respect that and return the gesture by working more closely together.

That's my 2-pence on the matter, I'm sure nobody cares and I'm. not sure why I'm botinhering but I suppose I just like saying my bit.

P.S. I will say thank you to the Brexit supporters that are outside of the UK (and especially that are still in the EU). You guys seem to be the only ones that have some of the "faith" that I am talking about.

AFAIK Sweden is in EU. I really don't understand why don't you only change the leadership if you are only disillusioned by the politicians, bankers, etc. Or is this the next step?

To others who responded to my tricky statement. UK is not an island geographically (it consists of more than one island) and I hope not figuratively speaking. It is part of island chains. Below the surface of the ocean they're actually connected. (c/p from About the Boy)

Take a wild guess why Bas uses the name "The Corfiot" in Forums? * :)

Bryce.

* I'll give you a clue: It has something to do with Corfu.

OK, As I don't have anything against Brits as I also have amongs other a few less or more close friends amongs English, Scotish and Welsh. Don't take my discours as a hate speak. To remains polite as always I will say a few or not so few words. First, where are all those politicians that shouted loud and long to make GB to exit. None of them is reachable, apart Farage that briefly showed. They played their own local game thinging that using matches near a gas station is secure. As some said Cameron and Company tested they own house if it's fireproof and burned it. All successes were British but all fails UE. And looking at their faces you can see small boys completly lost and knocked out. Where are those billions of GBP for NHS that was said to vanish because of UE. As Farage said there will be none, maybe but he can say or promess anything. But wait, much more promesses are only words in the wind. Come on our English fellows typing "what is UE" after leaving it. A poor dump guy showing his sad face saying that he voted out thinging that voting doesn't means anything and GB will remains within UE, what is he wanted to. Campaign about refugees that flows to Britain because you are in the UE, but you are not in Schengen, you thing that all those refugees over Calais will stop coming. What the gouvernent will do more to stop them. As you know and as I said before you are not in Schengen so you will check passports and make border controls as you always did. Before being in the UE and while being in UE. Populistic babble about sovereignty etc, etc. Tacher and her successors negotiated some very good conditions for GB while it was in EEC and UE. If Farage and others think that they can negociate even better conditions being outside UE, good for them, but keep dreaming. Arguments about Norway or Switerzland are only showing a quiet large ingnorance about their treaties with the UE that are really very close to UE as EFTA countries and have really strong economical fundations - plenty of oil for one and very strong banking system for the other (don't forget that as a UE citizen you can work without restrictions in Norway - what GB doesn't want to). And last but not least what England and Wales will do when Northern Ireland and Scotland will leave the Union but not the European Union. Blair arrived to calm the situation and establish a relative peace in Northern Ireland, in this situation are you sure that the calm will remains. Let's hope so. To not blame only Brits I can say that personally I also dislike the direction that the governement in the country I'm living now have toward UE.

probably favors Iran's solution....caning the soles of the players feet when they lose...

that'll learn them...

I'm still gostering with laughter about a quote in the Times newspaper about Nigel Farage being at the post Brexit summit, it said "He was as welcome as a fart in a lift"! I nearly fell out my chair! :ROTFLOL2:

As Kevin Bridges once said about farting in lifts. "It's wrong on so many levels"

I take it you're not a football fan then. I have no problem supporting a team who put on a good performance and lose (eg Iceland against France last night) but England were an embarrassment against Iceland, I think you'll find most football fans and pundits agree.

I still find it funny even now. It's the image in my head of the expressions of grumpy EU politicians looking at him, we're not the most liked nation over there anyway but he must be absolutely hated. Then that quote on top of it, priceless! :rofl3
