Taj and I are finally meeting up for a curry next Monday in Bradford.

If anyone would like to join, PM me or Taj and we'll send you the details :).

Cheers!

Its just too damn awesome to miss out! cmon you lot! Lets feast and be merry (and retro!)

Its too far from London, but I really love Curry :(

And a real shame too Steve cos you guys darn sarth dont know what a decent curry is until you have had one in Yorkshire! :D:D:D

My mrs lives in Potters Bar, we tried 6 different curry places when I first met her (no, not all at once!) and none were any good (well, upto the Yorkshire standard) so we gave up and I rang my dad and asked him for a recipe for one  Parents eh, such a pain in the arse but so useful too :D

There are some pretty damn epic curry houses here in Southampton, I can tell you that!

Alas, Bradford is a hell of a trek for a curry, much as I'd love to join you guys!

Have an awesome evening!

So how long does the drive take mate? Wouldn't mind meeting you and Nick

Having bought a car from Sevenoaks, I can confidently say that it takes a bloody long time :D

I come off M1 @ J7 and take the A414 to her house.

My journey is:

M62-> M1. Roughly 186.6 miles and takes around 3 ish hours depending on traffic and how fast I drive.
The only roadworks on that route at the moment (major ones anyway) are on the M1, J13-J10 They have a 50Mph average speed limit and take around 20 mins to drive through, no biggie. The rest is smooth sailing :)
Beware of the new speed cameras that are now up in the Nottingham area (J25-J28 I think it is, the old roadworks if you knew them)

Its worth the drive Steve, me and Nick just wreak of awesomeness and you can come have a perv at my retro junk

@Andy

Southampton is really a *bit* too far for a curry, but come anyway! :D

In a brief moment of blatant rule-violation, I am going to comment on a price:

£103 for a Super Off Peak return! You're having a bloody laugh!

Wow! I'm sure the curry is good, but is it £100-good?

If you can get a cheap day return to London I'll give you a lift LOL

London is about £35 from here, that's within the realms of affordability. Alas, I also have a day job, so I'm not sure if the timings will work in my favour, still it's a nice pipe dream!

It's just a curry on a monday night... Come up for the weekender that comes out of the inaugural curry

Maybe a group of us from down south can come up together and share transport one weekend to save travel costs.
We can try pulling in Merly from Mancland & Zetty from Norfolk too.

It's not just about the curry is it but good company too ;)

TC :)

hmmm..... £47 return via coach.....

However its an 8 hour journey with 3 change overs each way!!! ... its only 140 miles... what the hell is the coach doing?!

Cheapest train to Bradford is over £75 =(

alas as good as I am at begging, the wife will say no... or I like to call her the Woman of Delmonte' .... mentioning that.... why does the man from Delmonte' look like the classic Hollywood depiction of a Colombian drug lord?

Well I supose it beat puppets selling you things on TV i guess...

Its a shame guys, I just spent way to long (mainly down to crappy internet at the moment) trying to find a reasonable method of getting to you.... while the £47 return is do-able... the 8 hour journey each way followed with the only one leaving from Kings Lynn is at 04:55 am - is a tad.... harsh... I do wanna meet up and get some good curry in soon though chaps!

Perhaps with a little more lead-time we can look at better logistics and shared journeys - that would be awesome!

i have tried many curry's around the country in many places and i have to say with exception to birmingham that are a close secondyorkshire curries are by far the best

would love to join you guys but way too far to go

and for those that really wanna go try www.thetrainline.com

well, this is just finally us meeting up for a curry :D

Perhaps we can make it a semi-regular thing... And perhaps we can organise a Yorkshire Retro Group of sorts and maybe do a larger event like the Lincs guys do from time to time?

But me? I'm just looking forward to a curry!

I would like it to become somewhat of a regular event too, perhaps one day becoming the Yorkshire Retro Group as Nick says :) There are are quite a few of our users registered in Yorkshire and it seems some further a field are willing to travel so maybe it will happen eh

Curry first though
