my amiga 500+ power supply blew last night and id like to know if an amiga 600 power supply will work on the amiga 500+?

if its only good for a short run like a minute or two then thats great as i need to test my 500+ to make sure its ok. i unpluggged the power from the unit with in seconds so hopefuly no damage but i need to find out for sure? PLEASE NO GUESESS IF YOU DONT KNOW THEN DONT REPLY!!

Will work 100% but no do not try it with accelerators and external floppy devices as they draw power and the psu of the A600 is only 22 watt.

You could also buy an ATX psu and then buy the adapter @ amigakit.com
You should be good then even with external devices.

Ghoshy - I read, then re-read the thread comments. No-one was having fun at your expense. It is a friendly forum and from time to time folk will post friendly replies which are maybe a little off topic - that's part of the charm of this place. You also get your question answered too.

If anything I would say bebek's tone was a little off-hand about where you posted the question but I don't think it was meant to offend, and TC just moved the thread to the right place to help people find it easier when they have a similar question.

Now, back on topic, if you have a minimum acknowledge of electronics (how to solder and how to buzz a pair of wires) you can redo your power supply.

Look this link to know how to adapt an AT or ATX power supply from pc world to use on the Amiga.

Also, there is a thread on this very site showing how Zetr0 & I made (almost the same time) a micro-ATX PSU into the Amiga 500/1200 brick:
