Installing OS 3.9 from PCMCIA CF

Is installing workbench 3.1 from floppy and then installing OS 3.9 over the top with pcmcia cf OK ?
I usually do it this way since a dont have scsi cd rom.
Just wondering if doing it this way causes any problems or make os 3.9 not work the way it should.
Some advice or tips would be great.

If you have a cf for a hardrive you can set it up in a pc using winuae then transfer it back to the miggy

Not sure this would work. If nothing else I would assume you would need to create a lot of assigns. Could be wrong though, would be interesting to know if this is actually possible.

Pretty easy i would say. You just have to get the right files. I will describe the procedure as simple as possible:

1) (if you don't have it already) make an ISO of the 3.9 and copy this file over to your CF
2) Change your CF card name to "CF" (without the brackets)
3) Download the following files (exactly as they are in the ZIP file),

https://www.dropbox.com/s/udd3jlmaylyvvfj/3.9 CF Boot.zip

and unzip them to the CF that is already loaded with the 3.9 ISO

4) boot your miggy and as soon as you have access to your CF, click the "start" file and let the installation procedure drive you till the end as if you were using an AmigaOS 3.9 cdrom.

The same applies for both Boing Bags of course.

I have already uploaded on Youtube a couple of videos showing exactly how it is done but they really suck quality-wise so i will try to update them ASAP. Until then, follow the instructions and you can do it.

I ended up doing it again with WINUAE from real CD.
It was easy.
