With this buffered adapter you can connect an Iomega Zip Drive to your Amiga on the Parallel Port.



Requires a Joystick Port expander cable (not included).

What additional JOY cable is used for?

The Amiga parallel port has some signals less than a PC parallel port which are required by the ZIP drive. These signals are provided by one of the joystick ports. (You have to connect to parallel and joystick port.)

Hi.
Is this adapter really only for zip or does it turn the parallel port into a complete pc parallel port? Asking because it would allow to use a Covox parallel sound card with PCTask at last. In that case, looking forward to the next batch.

There is no "universal parallel port driver" for Amiga. You need these for the ZIP drive:

The first one is a driver expecting the ZIP drive being connected to parallel + joystick. The adapter just does the wiring. If you write an own Covox driver for Amiga, this might work aswell. (Maybe the Amiga parallel port pins are sufficient for this, I don't know Covox in detail.)
