Is it possible to share printer between OSX and Amiga?

I doubt it but thought I'd ask anyway.

I have a G4 cube that runs as a headless print / web server. When/If I get my A1200 connected to my network (a project that is temporarily suspended while I wait for a new mouse to arrive. Sticky mouse buttons, a short temper and towering frustration combined to spell the end of my Amiga mouse yesterday...) it'd be pretty neat to hit print and the job gets sent to the network printer, same as it does for my laptops, Mac workstation and PC. Not that I'll ever do much printing from the Amiga, if any, but now I've thought of it I need the ability!

So, techies consider this a challenge set!

If you can find an Amiga implementation of the UNIX Line Printer Daemon (lp / lpr) you'll be laughing.

It'd have to be CUPS-compatible I assume - I don't know how old CUPS is...

(Unless CUPS built on some older standard whilst remaining compatible - I don't really know much about how UNIX printing works, I always use my parallel-port dot matrix printer for my old computers ;p)

CUPS turns 11 in June.

If there's an Amiga implementation, it'll be a fairly recent development.

CUPS supports lpr anyway, so that'll do the job.

Now sure what you mean mate? My printer is indeed non-networkable, hence the cube print server. But that's not too bad a solution either as I'm setting it up for web and ftp too. It runs lovely 24/7 actually.

You can buy gizmos to plug into a printer & make it Net-workable through an IP Address. You'll need TCP/IP on all puters of course.

Ah, I see. Nah, like I said, having my cube sat next to it dealing with all the network print jobs is cool beans, more so when it's running my photography website and ftp shenanigans.
