I recently bought a rev 5 060 but I saw it shows a different number than my previous 060 rev 5 68060 XC68060RC60A, I looked it up on the internet and if I am correct does this mean that the base speed is 60 MHz? Will this cause issues with the Amiga as I noticed most 060s have a base speed of 50Mhz?
Is this 060 compatible with the Amiga?

It will not, as a matter of fact such a CPU won't be that stressed in case you would like to overclock it to 66 MHz or above, comparing to a 50 MHz unit.

I have one of these. It’s currently in my Cyberstorm MK1 but running at 52mhz. Unfortunately the MK1 won’t support 60mhz or above with the SCSI Module. At least it doesn’t with mine.
Tried it originally with a BFG9060, but the BFG only goes from 50, 75 to 100Mhz. Wouldn’t work at 75mhz
Thanks for the advice guys, I finally got my TF1260 to try the 060, I used WhichAmiga and it showed it as a 50Mhz 060, I then tried the TF cpuspeed settings, anything below 70 caused an unstable system, however when I used cpuspeed=70 , I get 66Mhz and it is quite stable, no crashes for the moment, fingers crossed.
This is a native 60MHz 060, WhichAmiga will only show the speed it is running at, so if your card is running it at 50MHz, it will show 50MHz.

I see, so the TF1260 by default sets any 060 at 50Mhz, even one that is a default 60Mhz like you and I have? It is a nice boost over the T11230 I had in the A1200, I had forgotten how much a difference the 060 makes lol
yep thats correct, the speed of the card is set usually by the card not by the CPU, thus allowing for overclocking. The speed marking on the CPU is the manufacturer-recommended/guaranteed speed it will run at with no issues
I do not remember where but I recall reading about 68090 firmware not letting you to push the clock that much as the alpha did.
Nevertheless, the same source stated, lower clock speed with 68090 gives same performance as higher speed offered with alpha firmware.

I think I remember seeing that as well, when I was chatting with the one of the builders they said the 68090 was more stable but could not go as fast as the earlier firmware. That is interesting to know that the lower clock speed gives the same performance as the alpha firmware.
