Amiga gurus,

I'm new to forum so please excuse if this goes in wrong place.
Could someone identify this board? Closest I can get is Apollo 1240 with 32mb SIMM attached judging from pics elsewhere.

I'm looking at selling but have little idea on model or worth.

Thanks

Yes it is an Apollo 1240 accelerator card for the Amiga A1200.

Turn it over and let us know what is printed on the big chip (post a piccy as well).

As for price? We don't discuss prices on Amibay as it's agianst the rules. But you can search previous sales (or look below at the Similar Threads section) for a rough price guide and go from there :)

Thank you @miggymad appreciate it

Ah yes, I've just read the forum times after posting (oops sorry)

I'd pop the plastic cap off that battery and check for leakage, very common with these cards, killed two of mine back in the day.

Never thought to do that, there's white powdery stuff on top. Should I remove battery do you think?

I literally just tested the card, it works although it sticks out of trapdoor on A1200. I'm thinking sometimes it crashes the Amiga because of this and other times, if I get the angle right it's absolutely fine.

Yes you should definitely remove the battery and check for any damage to the nearby chip/jumpers and tracks.

The crashing may just be connectivity, try cleaning the connector and slot on the motherboard with IPA.

If you could get a close up of the battery area with the cap off that will help.

Crashing could also be PSU overloaded as these are quite power heavy, do you use the stock Amiga PSU?

Ok I'll get the solder iron out, I can't see any visible damage to anything nearby, looks like it was a lucky break. Thanks for the heads up

Yes, stock PSU. It used to do that in the past (I've owned it for 25+ years) and if I got the support right under trap door, it didn't crash.

Get your hot glue gun out too ... Simply hold the card upand then run a line of hot glue between the card and the little plastic lip to secure the card in place if you are not using the trapdoor ;)

Easy to secure and remove at a later date if you do decide to sell it on at a later date.
