so im at my parts box just after 8am this morning as usual most mornings,

I see another chap getting his parts also, ive seen him quite a few times but this time I spark up a conversation because of his company car.

his company is call "Apogee" and I referance duke nukem 3d and rise of the triads as every time I see his car that pops in my head.

he said whats "rise of the triad" I said an early pc fps like duke nukem 3d (blank look), I then said how old are you he replied 32, i said oh! that explains it playstation i guess was your 1st video games console.

he then said "NO", my 1st computer was an Amiga and I still have it :D, he said he loved playing Frontier Elite 2 and many more.

you never know if you don't ask eh!! :)

I gave him our website address and explained he wouldnt believe the activity for the Amiga atm, come join and take a look.

So true. Last Friday I was at my data centre services provider and I spotted a curious windows 8 splash screen... It was the Amiga 1200 standard boot screen, the one asking for a diskette. The guy must be 35 or something like that. So I asked him about the splash screen and he said: "All I learned about computers is because of the Amiga. I played a lot with it and now I have this job thanks to the countless hours I spent with my Amiga." Didn't ask him if he is aware of Amibay but I will...

"Amigos are everywhere" ;-)

The guy who fixes my car is where my 2nd amiga came from... 15 years after i sold my first one...
That said Ive known him since I had the first one as well, and he's still in touch with a few others, who I also sort of know to talk to so have sen them a few times when ive been at the garage at the same time..
Some of the stuff he cracked is still in tosec, and iirc he did the only 100% working crack of worms back in the day.

at a customers house last week and on his table he had a few things he was listing on the other bay to clear out years of "rubbish". In amongst this was a A500 plus machine cartoon bundle, all boxed with all inners and his original receipt!!
asked him about it and well long story short he gave it to me, after I'd told him all about Amibay and how I seem to spend my life on here. He was of the opinion that if it didn't sell on the other bay he was just going to tip it anyway so rather go to someone who would use it.
so free Amiga :-)

That was a happy day at work

This is an old one so my memory is hazy:
Somewhere during the time the PSX is the reigning console, Amiga is being bounced between companies albeit with lots of hope, and I'm at a popular game store in the US. As I'm chatting with whoever was working, an older gentleman walks in, with a big ol walking stick as tall as he is, to pick up a game. I'm not sure of the conversation that ensued, but he mentioned something to the effect of buying games for the PSX because he didn't want to touch a PC. I must have mentioned something about the current activity (maybe I said "you can always get an Amiga") as I recall him saying "oh I didn't know they were doing anything with it anymore".... So hopefully I helped keep someone in the scene a bit longer. He didn't look like the adaptable type though.
