Hi,
I grew up with the later stages of Amiga, ended up dabbling in the demo scene between 1995-98.
My first computer was Commodore 128D(R) at the end of 1987.
Was living in the archipelago outside Stockholm, there was a lot of time to play around with the computers we had and try to make some stuff. The prods we achieved are not the best but we had fun.
Never had an up to date system until the PC and getting a job era.
Had a borrowed A500 for a while, then got my own. Traded it for a CDTV. Eventually got an A1200 but managed to fry it while doing mods. Some Atari and old PCs passed by on the side. Around 1998 a friend gave me his A4000D as he was moving over to PC gaming. I still have it, stored it for too long so it got some corrosion damage, but a skilled friend later restored the board for me.
Had a long hiatus from retro computers, until just before covid, when a couple of other bad things had just happened around me.
Had good therapy renovating a bunch of old computers during the quarantine.
Have some projects still on pause since a while after that, but get back to it every now and then.
I just took on recapping a couple of A1200s again for friends.
I have one complete A4000D with ZZ9000. Have a few different CPU cards for it, a BFG9060 that is only running stable after about an hour of warming up, depending on the season.
Also a project second A4000D which is still not done, but I have most of the parts. Was going to make it a mediator build but still not sure.
Working as a desktop applications developer / C++ guy since about 2000.
I guess I better not write a whole book here.
Greetings, and thanks to everyone who tends to things like AmiBay.
John
