Over the years I've tried or bought and then sold most variations of computer. I'm slowly running out of ones to try... But I still want to try a few more that either looked exotic or we're just expensive.

Computers that cost hundreds of pounds years ago, now sell for just a few pounds (sometimes) so I can still get to try the following...

Atari TT or falcon
Msx
Acorn RISC pc

What machine do you guys want to own or use... Or just looked interesting in the day.

The atmos used forth didn't it?

If I remember correctly at has BASIC - the Jupiter Ace used Forth.

Oh that's another computer I wouldn't mind having a look at.

basic built in to rom i think, but i remember it had a version of forth.probably wrong though.

edit:yeah, must of been the jupiter ace.dont know why i remember forth for the oric though, hmm.

Dragon 32 or ZX Specturm QL(a friends of mine about 20 years ago show me racing game that he made and quite impressed with the Speed which was 7.5MHZ)

Those the system that I did love to try :)

Computers i have not owned but want:

PET
Timex Sinclair 1000
TRS-80 Model II & III
Commodore SX64
Atari 800 (original, i have an 800XL)
an early(ish) Mac (classic/512k)
IBM PCjr
IBM PS/2 Model 25

have had, but would like to get again:

Apple IIc
Atari 1040STfm

I would like some of the really old ones like a nascom II,microtan 65 or a acorn atom.

When you say "MSX", you should be more specific - MSX or MSX2

Oric Atmos(Pravec-8d) looks interesting
SORD M5 maybe? Or some obscure japanese computers like RX-77, JR-100, JR-200, Pyuuta, X1, 6001, 6601, 8001, 8801

I have just aquired an Atmos from a friend....looks good.

If you want Beeb's guys, just ask

TC :)

I'd love to get to try
Apple IIgs
Memotech MTX

I've been kicking myself in the behind for not getting an Oric Atmos, when there was one up for grabs for a very low BIN. It was missing a few keycaps and a PSU but in retrospective I think it might have been worth a shot.

@mjnurney: In case you can't find an MSX locally. Check out Bas Kornaljinslijper's site.

must...resist....the....urge:lol:

the only thing,in my case is, i have to think about where im going to put the damn things when ive got them.
not because of footprint or anything but just the amount of them,i already feel like i have a pile of machines.
and then i'll look around and see what i can add to the one im thinking of getting..
sometimes i would be thinking about one machine for ages on and off until i actually get one.
i also have to consider how much software is available for a machine as well, that on its own can be a deal breaker with some of the obscure machines because i wont want to just look at it.

Atari ST and X68000 for me :)

Beeb software library is massive....
However. £24 on fleabay will buy you a TurboMMC (BIN) which means very small footprint and massive software library on tap.
