JXD woes :-(

Bought myself a JXD s7800b in April and all was well until Tuesday when........

I powered it down, that was it!

Wont power up, charge or do anything! SO now I have the task of trying to get
the damn thing replaced or repaired.. Amazon marketplace, hopefully we can
sort it....

Anyone else seen/heard about this kind of issue?

For xmas i bought 3 JXD 7300 for the kids and the last one just took a dump and wont come back on no matter what I do. Will never again but anything JXD as they are made on the cheap and over priced.

This type of general symptom is common with all types mobile devices and can happen to even the most high cost/quality hardware, not just cheap ones. You guys were just unlucky. Get in touch with them/Send it back and they will likely replace board for you.

@FOL, why hold for 30 sec+? I have done the standard 10 secs as per other information.
I might try that tonight, just in case...

I have emailed Amazon and they have steered me in the direction of JXD.

Have now sent JXD an email and will see what their reply is.

I don't know the answer myself, but 30+ seconds does work on some devices when they do this. I've had to do it with my Nexus 7 and previous phone (a Samsung one), when holding it for ten seconds totally failed.

There should also be a reset button like you press with a pin and you could also try power on holding +vol as that launches the Firmware update, if all else fails. Firmware goes on sd card if you actually want to update /restore it. Note you will wipe the device if you do this.

Power and + vol, nothing on rock chip batch.

Reset button, nowt.

Dead as a dodo .....

Nope, its cold and heartless. :crying: Not even the PSU gets hot, so I can assume nothing is happening. :banghead:

I don't understand as all I did was switch it off!

JXD have not replied to my emails so I may have to go back and see if Amazon can help...

Maybe you've just got a faulty PSU and your battery is simply flat? Mine is warm when plugged in with nothing attached. Chinese PSUs are notoriously crap!

I got a USB to power connector, like the will goo one, with the JXD and I plugged it into a 5v 2.5A iPad charger but this made no difference.
