Nice idea.
Perhaps it would be best to contact the creator of the original campaign to create an OFFICIAL list of new Amiga with second generation (Anti-UV) cases. That is, the original serial should be the one assigned by Commodore (or Escom) while the Kickstarter serial should be the one decided by the official meker according the date of production of the new cases.
He is the one to know the exact number and serial of the Special Editions too (Red Sectro, Scoopex, Phenomena...).
Just a thought.

Candyman: you take it too seriously. I see this initiative as cool fun. Personally I can imagine my phone number as a serial number, who cares? As long as it's not used to pretend it's a real one...
