You could hook up Arduino and run Dumper tool from MonHack archive which will check if this thing is using Realtek or MStar chip. If it does, there's at least some chance it could be modded but I'd probably have to have it on my desk for a while to make something out of it.

ok... I don't think I could do the check myself 'cause I never used arduino and I don't even know how to start doing so...
I'll send you a PM, as we discussed some months ago I still should send you some floppy disk drives... if it won't be to expensive I could send you the monitor and the drives together.
I'll write you in private as soon as possible. :)

I worked with developer for over an hour the other day and turned out the Acer monitor had built in new chipset that cannot be programmed remotely via DB15. I want to thank @drugkito for taking the time I troubleshoot it.

All of them or selected serial numbers?
With the previous acer it was a crapshoot remember?
The warning in the first post still stands. Only listed revisions/firmware versions have been tested, everything else is in the gray area until proven otherwise.

There are 2 things to distinguish here - hardware and firmware.
Firmwares listed have been hacked and tested to work but as a general rule even the unlisted ones are likely similar and can be modified in a relatively short time. Hardware listed has been known to be reprogrammable. If there's something off or odd with either a specific firmware or a hardware revision, it'll be listed as such on the monitor info pages. If hw revision or fw version is not listed, it means such a combination has not been encountered yet and I can only suggest to send a PM first to see on how to proceed perhaps.

As a general rule - if you have a monitor at hand or can get it cheap, it's worth a shot even if not listed. If you're buying a new or used one for a substantial sum, but it's not on the list - it comes solely at your own risk - might or might not work in the end. Send a PM before acquiring such a model.

As for your Acer - for years Acer made only slight changes to that model, in both hardware and firmware, until they were probably forced to replace both the scaler chip and the lcd panel, most likely due to supply restrictions but decided to continue naming models the same as previous ones - although internally they're absolutely different units. Anyway, monitor info pages are updated with all the combinations, as we encounter them, with unsupported or odd behaving ones clearly marked or described as such in the text.
