Hi there,

I'm looking for a 4pin cd rom drive audio cable with stereochinch thruputs or a 3,5 audio jack female. I have put some pics here to see what I mean

SO i search for this fourpin cable that gets put into the back of the cdrom and then it should adapt to the chinch or the maleplug from the 3,5 audio jack is remved and soldered onto the 4pin cdrom audio cable. Is there such a solution possible. As my CDRom has no 3,5 audio jack in the front of it.

or is it possible to get cdaudio from the amiga via the ide cable like in modern pcs
?

If I understand correctly you want internal 4pin CD-ROM audio connector to external chinch connector?
It is in almost every old SCSI enclosure. You could buy one and use it.
It has something like this.
You can buy it on amazon
Amazon product ASIN B07KT1JMYS

Ah ok. So I need to find a enclosure case and a scsi cd-rom? But how do I get it connected to the A1200 or I need an older drive with the connector in front incl volumeslider

I think that you only need the cable from the enclosure and you can connect your IDE CD-rom audio output.

Ah I see.
I have now bought an old cd rom from mitsumi. This one has a audiojack and a volumeknob on the front side. I will plug a 3.5 Plug into it and then connect tit to the speakers.

Edit: Well at the moment it is as follows. When I boot with a cd in the drive it gets recognizzed. When I change the cd to another one it gets not shown on the desktop, a reset and the cd is shown.

Strange isn't it?

Maybe you know a solution for this? The option with the diskchange bit is set in the install and in the cdfs prefs.

Hi.

First, indeed, the Amiga can play audio from CD with only the IDE as digital and no analog cable, it does it on my A4000.

Second, if you need custom audio cables such as CD-ROM to jack or whatever, you can ask member a.mi.goun to build them. He did for me this kind of cable, that i use to connect internally an usb soundcard to the audio in of my A4000 mobo or to the aux in of the ISA soundcard inside my A4000.

Say is this digital audio playback out of the box working or did you install anything for that?

I have the IDEFix software package installed but can't say if it works without it.

I have just checked for you.
If i use PlayCD from IDEFix package, it plays audio CD in analogic though the audio cable (connected to the AUX IN of my ISA PC bridgboard soundcard).
If i use SongPlayer (see Aminet), it plays digital through Paula from the IDE cable.
On my setup, it is easy to be sure what is playing to what, because i have a Roland mixer for all my audio outputs and i can check separatly Paula from any other source.
