hello all,

i recently bought a mac se30 and its in pretty poor condition , the battery has leaked and its taken a lot of tracks with it. So i thought i would pop some pics on and repair each track and try the board until it works and post the results here.

it may help someone

The mac currently shows horizontal lines across the screen , i image the cpu / ram is not being accessed due to the track damage...

mike :-)

As per compact mac witchdoctory you'll also need to rinse the board in water at some point.

Chances are the analogue board will need it's caps replacing too. You could have a perfectly working motherboard but if the analogue board is bad it will just show lines. My SE/30 was much the same.

hi,

yes your right but i have 2 macs and the board is bad on this one, in fact its very bad but hopefully its fixable.
my other mac board boots just fine on this macs screen and this board shows lines on the other mac too.

I'm half way through bridging the broken solder traces but it looks like there could be corrosion under the ram sockets so maybe more work than i thought...
