I hope I'm in the right section for this :)

The Alphagen is basically an A1200 in a dedicated, rackmount chassis used for digital signage; it's been seen in use as a "billboard" channel for use on local access TV stations, which is where I became acquainted with it.

Here's what the output from one looks like, you can get a look at the menu system, and at the actual device from a linked video.

I want to pick up one of these units. If you have one in any reasonable condition (i.e. it outputs video), I am very interested in purchasing one from you.

Thanks!

As these things don't show up that often, i would build one if i were you. It's not the most complicated machine or configuration out there!
What you need is an A1200, a 2U rack drawer, CDROM, floppy drive, 1230 accelerator, internal psu, pc keyboard interface, or an A600 keyboard in external case to match the size, and a GVP G-Lock genlock. Maybe even ask any owner to take some pics of the originals' tags for re-print. Install Scala, and you're done.
But that's just my way of viewing things, nevertheless, you're on the right side of the pond, as these machines were all NTSC-based.
Good luck!

Hi,

Sorry for OT but i have too this great system in my collection. Not on sale sorry. My system has Blizzard 1230 IV + SCSI IV kit.

Bumping, still looking.

Karunamon I'm ready to trade mine for a normal Amiga 1200...if you're still interested

68030 processor and looks like 10 meg ram, 20gb hard drive and scsi option.

Yes! Very interested assuming it's working and has the keyboard and software.

I do have a 1200 I'd be willing to trade, but it's in somewhat rough shape.

I don't have the cdrom disc for the alphagen. Original software is present in the drive but you need the disc to completely boot into the character gen. With that said I did put another drive in to boot a clean install of 3.5

There's also the emergency floppy for the software that also contains the atapi driver for the cdrom which works fine too.

I don't have the original keyboard for it but the AT keyboard I is works just fine. There was no mouse for the alphagen as far as I know. But I'm sure a normal Amiga mouse will work

Do you happen to have photos of the Amiga you have for a trade?

I'll post some photos of mine soon.

Oof.. I'm sorry, but that's kind of kills it for me. Without the disc, it's just an A1200 in an awkward case.

Can't you get a copy of the cdrom and burn your own copy?
