I am curious what everyone is using as their main Amiga as I have moved from an A500 to A500+ to A600 and now settled on upgrading my original A1200 inside a case :)

Mine is an A1200 with the Apollo 1260 68060@80Mhz 64MB RAM accelerator card in the trapdoor

I only have one Amiga so I guess it's my 3000D :P It's un-accelerated and the only modifications are a SCSI2SD drive, 16MB SIMM adapter, and an 8MB Zorro RAM card.

I have a view 500's, a view 2000's and I am currently in the proces of repairing an Amiga 3000. But it has some issues.
I use the real machines for playing games as it is very different then using a raspberry pi. It is not the same...

So I want to do everything with my Amigas (Run Classic WB/WB3.1; WHLoad games; Ot0med/Protracker; OS3.9/OS4.x as I never got to play with that first time around; transport my setup to events).
I have all stock A500, A500+,A600, 3xA1200, A2000 and I have a Checkmate A1500 case on order, lots of bits (Expansion cards, CF HD's, IDE Adapters, Gotek).

(Oh and I need to recap my A600/A1200's still.

I ws planning on installing an A1200 in the Checkmate A1500 and running that as my main machine with all bells and whistles (OS3.9+) and then kit out an A1200 or A600 for Classic games. My A2000 was a long term project to rebuild it and it stalled.

Thoughts and inspiration welcome.

My main one would be the A4000D

New psu internals
Motherboard recapped and new simms sockets (had a long term Memory problem that turned out to be the PSU LOL)
Cyberstorm MK2 which will run at 75mhz but clocked at 66mhz 128mb ram
Cybervision 64 3/d
Elbox Mk5 fast ATA
Indi Vision Mk2 CR
Adriane 2 NIC
First of Four including a PPC one I have had that runs the way it should also got on order my MNT ZZ9000 so that will replace the Indi Adriane and Cybervision too.

My backup well MISTer Fpga just Built an Unamiga in my A500 case plus the Trusty 500 MB if I ever decide to go and upgrade that.

I have a few, but what is my "main" one? Actually lately it's been my Amiga 2500:

Amiga 2500
Blizzard 2060 clocked at 60MHz
120GB IDE hard drive connected to an ACard 7720
Cybervision 64/3D graphics card
Emplant Deluxe
FireCracker 24 board (needs repair), will attempt soon
Prisma MegaMix Music Card

I also have two A4000's and one A3000, a CD32 with TF330, and a CDTV. All of those machines are also expanded except the CDTV, it is stock! :)

I have quite a few Amiga's still but my main one remains an A1200 with a Blizzard 1230MKIV with 32MB fast ram, 80GB HDD, Laptop CD drive, PCMCIA network card etc. But these days, most of the time I tend to use emulation and not a real Amiga.

When I used Amigas more as a main computer it was an A4000/040, but after not using it much for years I decided to sell it as it was taking up a lot of room. I still regret selling it a bit as I had such fond memories with that system. As mentioned in my sig I do have a towered A4000 with a PPC, but I was given it a few years ago as a dead system and I've never got around to resurrecting it. It was my dream Amiga with PPC/060 and graphics card, housed in tower, but just haven't really needed to get it working. Maybe I should whilst in lockdown.

@Harrison

An 060/RTG Amiga is STILL a great machine for productivity. I simply love Draw Studio 2, TurboPrint 7 and Photogenics 5 on that setup. Very useful and nothing comparable on modern Mac/PC IMHO. I dabble with Photoshop on modern platforms but find myself using PowerPoint for jobs that are far better suited to DrawStudio and TurboPrint.

What do you lot actually use these machines for aside from gaming? Emulation is cool for me but with all these gadgets, gizmos and go faster stripes you add on to this old ass hardware I've got to ask, why?

@SherlockHomeless
but with all these gadgets, gizmos and go faster stripes you add on to this old ass hardware I've got to ask, why?

Because it 'feels' right! Although it was a pain to configure and tweak a Classic Big Box 'miggy with RTG hardware/accelerator and software OS3.9, OS3.5 and OS3.1 partitions for maximum compatibility, Boing Bags, correct CPU libraries, AsimCDFS, IDEFix97, Oxypatcher, etc, etc until it was stable it was all fun and it all seemed logical in a way that troubleshooting PeeCees just isn't fun or logical half the time! I persevered with old SCSI hard drives for far longer than I should but settled on the SCSI2SD V6 card in the last couple of years and am interested by the GOTEK drives. Saying that, I've played both Pac Mania and AB Zoo from floppy this week and my 4 year old is intrigued by the disk noise! Using a Vampire I guess is the way to go but having an 060 throughout the 2010s has been fun! It's been great using all my old late 90s software at a descent speed and actually being able to be creative with resource heavy programs like Photogenics 5 and Deluxe Paint V which both crawled under an 030! Playing Napalm in high res and playing Doom at a good frame rate with the midi music just feels great on a 90s Amiga! The machine was meant to see out the Millenium but few of us could afford the accelerators or risk the money on upgrades back then.

Amithlon....on a laptop

Amithlon....on a laptop

Presently using my Amithlon set-up (DELL Inspiron 5150)....If I manage to get also the IMAP mail access sorted out I'll be stuck with a PC only in the office...:)

I have a A1200 with Blizzard 1230IV 50Mhz 64MB and 8GB CF connected to a Dell ST2320L, which displays 15Khz.

But I have owned everything from an A1000 with DKB board to a fully speced A4000T with Cyberstorm PPC.
Even had the rare A3000UX, 3000T and 3000T040.
Also A2500/030 and just about every mainstream accelerator card, fastram card and graphics card.
CDTV and CD32 with a SX32.
A530's and HD8's and also new things, like Indivision and BigRam.
Even revived a dead Blizzard PPC 040 25/160 and then had it upgraded by Stachu100 to 060 66/300.

The thing for me was to make them all rock stable and still be able to run every demo and game I could throw at them.
Like above in the 90's this was impossible, but by late 2009 I was picking up Amiga again after quitting around 2000.
The prices where high sometime, but much more affordable for me then.
Now however ....

In the end I sold just about everything, except for a few 1200's and my 2 A500's from the 90's and an A2500.
For me playing games is what brought me back, but it's not quite catchy anymore, actually my 1200 and all others have been off since 2018.
I guess lack of interest and the idea of; been there, done that
