I haven't had a whole lot of time to dedicate to this project, but I've gone through a few of the chapters. 'My Level' is actually not very good in the theory department. I generally know what components do, but I don't know a circuit is designed a certain way or why it works. This book is definitely filling in those gaps.
The best thing about this book is that everything is explained with a little bit of history, the theory behind the experiments, and then actually doing the experiments. It pushes circuits to failure to show you what happens and how to avoid the failure in later exercises. Each chapter builds on the previous one.
So, I would definitely recommend the book. Nothing really replaces actually building the experiments in the book, but you can get a general idea of the experiment by simply reading through them.
Hope that helps! I'll post a more in-depth review as I go along.
