Hello everyone,

Soooo ... Here is my first post, and introduction.

I am 47 and living in Belgium. I've been interested in computers as soon as I could my hands on one. The year was 1982 and it was an Apple II+, available in our local club at the school. I then moved to a VIC-20 at a friend's house, then a C-64 (again at his house), until I finally bought my own, a Spectravideo SV-328, in 1984. I bought it because it was an MSX computer, and I believed that it was the future ... Wait, the Spectravideo was not an MSX ! Contrary to some early ads stating that fact, it was indeed not. So I bargained with the importer, and swapped it for a true MSX, a Daewoo DPC-200.

I stayed on course with the MSX standard, and bought after that, in 1987, a Philips VG-8235, an MSX2. Had a lot of fun with those computers ...

Unfortunately, I sold everything (except my Daewoo) in 1994, and after a few years without, I've been collecting back since 2001.

Et voilà !

Welcome Metalion! I think we need more MSX people here on the forum, I was always fascinated by those machines coming out of the cape of the old CBM technology - Japanese style! Altough I don't own one and don't know much about them. And good call for the DPC-200, is it possible to connect any tape player to it (Spectrum style, or were there MSX dedicated players?

Hi tbtorro,

Indeed, I have seen that this forum has very few MSX related posts (or sales).
The tape players were standard ones, that you could connect thru the usual 3 mini jacks.

Welcome to Amibay!

I've collected quite a few MSXes in my hoarding (i mean collecting) days; kept a few Sony models (HB-75P, HB-F9P, HB-201P) but the rest is listed for sale right here on Amibay. Noticed the low interest too, but that's somewhat expected on an Amiga/Commodore centric community ;)

MSX2 models are quite popular though, the others... meh not so much. (to my surprise, that applies to the less common Yashica, Sanyo etc models too).
