"Are you sure you wanna do that?"

yes

"really? I wouldnt advise you do that"

YES

"okay... Sorry you do not have permission to do that, please try again as admin..."

My account is admin.... :computertrash:

I havent come across a more annoying piece of tech since talkie toaster in
Red Dwarf!

"FOUND NEW HARDWARE - Unknown Device"

Followed by...

"now installing drivers for unknown device"

and then...

"Windows has finished installing the drivers for Unknown Device"

Almost the same as Creampie posted:

{insert an ordinary, working 8029 lan card}

"FOUND NEW HARDWARE - unknown device"

Followed by...

"Device not recognized, trying Microbost site" (how come, if you don't recognize the lan card???????)

"Winblows was not able to install the card, try again later"...:banghead:

I thought this kind of thing was virtually non-existent on Win 7....

I insert a 4GB Sand Disk USB stick which I use for booting a DOS Win 98 session from. I was warned the disk needed checking for errors, so fed up with the nag everytime I put it in my Rig, I ran the check....

Win7Cr4p01.jpg

and extending the results....

Win7Cr4p02.jpg

No problems were found on the disk so why ask dammit?
